[BRICK] [STEEL] [HOME] [LIVING]

[BRICK] [STEEL] [HOME] [LIVING]

On a setback stand, this home has a lot of presence from the street. A simple roof line and volume with implied extensions of space is evident from the start. This design manifests in a contemporary way with some farm style material refences

Thick steel pergola’s, with patterned screens are used throughout the design to achieve a system of sun- and privacy control while creating unique textures and patterns on both the facade and the interior spaces. Slab edges are exaggerated in thickness, and cut into the main volumes of the home, balanced, almost held up, by face brick inserts

Upon entering, one moves through an inverted foyer and front door, into the open plan living space with a direct view to the reserve; a feature stair leads one up to the next level, while creating a double volume space adjacent to the living areas. A large entertainment area takes maximum advantage of views and connection to the reserve

Upstairs, the bedrooms all have direct views to the reserve. Each bedroom opens up to the reserve with large glazed areas; the extended slabs of the design extend past the building envelope below, giving protection and adding the floating yet grounded elements of the home
